Prerequisite
学生应具备扎实的量化和编程背景。统计学、数学、应用数学、物理学、计算机科学或工程学，学生应至少学习过两个大学水平的微积分课程、一些线性代数课程，并具备丰富的编程经验

生物统计学和数据科学硕士课程期间，学生将会：使用最先进的统计和数据科学方法来解决现代数据挑战；在经验丰富的生物统计学家和数据科学家指导下获得宝贵的现实世界经验；通过一个由教授指导的研究项目在该领域建立经验；充分利用纽约市靠近全美领先的教育机构和一些最大的制药中心的优势；通过低师生比率与多样化教师建立密切的专业关系；接触到诸如健康服务研究、成本效益和比较效果等专业领域。
特点及课程设置
侧重于数据挖掘和机器学习技术，同时保持了传统生物统计学程序的严谨性。
课程设置
生物统计与数据科学硕士项目的课程不仅涉及到生物医学知识，也包含统计、DS方法和技术。从课程设置来看，从事数据分析工作所需的常用工具，R、SQL、SAS、Python，在这里都是可以接触到的。当然，如果想做data scientist类的工作，还是需要额外深入自学。想指望靠学校课堂上学的东西就能从事高技术领域的工作，是不太现实的。项目的一大特色就是group project比较多，一个项目读完，大大小小的group project加起来有十几个。有2周的小项目，也有2-3个月的capstone project。这非常考验和锻炼学生的能力，对以后工作也有很大的帮助。
