（1）Personal statement: The School of Social Policy & Practice wishes to evaluate your qualifications for professional education in nonprofit leadership and the appropriateness of the program for your educational needs and goals. We therefore ask that you prepare an application essay based on the questions listed below, no more than 800 words long, double-spaced, size 12 font. We strongly advise that you do not exceed this limit and that you address all of the required questions, as listed below.
1. How have your personal, educational, and/or professional experiences led you to pursue an MS in Social Policy?
2. What aspects of the MSSP Program do you believe align with your personal and professional goals? Please speak specifically about your policy interest(s).
（2）Writing Sample
The writing sample is a chance for applicants to demonstrate their writing and critical thought and analysis abilities. In no more than 800 words, double-spaced, size 12 font, please respond to one of the prompts below.
1)In Thomas Piketty's Capital in the 21st Century, the crux of the argument deals with rising global income inequality. Provide a critical analysis of what you see as the most salient social consequence(s) of income inequality. Include how you would use social policy to address these consequences and/or shape new futures. You may include evidence or data to support your argument.
2) In 2022, the Supreme Court of the United States issued several major conservative majority decisions. Some of these include Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn., Inc. v. Bruen, and West Virginia v. EPA. These decisions have implications on issues such as reproductive rights and bodily autonomy, the ability of the federal government to regulate access to guns, and the authority of the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate emissions related to climate change. Provide a critical analysis of what you see as the most salient social consequences) of one of these decisions you may choose another recent decision not listed here). include how you would use social policy to address these consequences and/or shape new futures. You may include evidence or data to support your argument.

1)You must submit a writing sample that demonstrates critical analysis of a social problem and policy issue (based on a prompt provided in the application). The response should be a maximum of 800 words, not including references
2)Video Interview
All students will be asked to complete a recorded video interview prior to submitting the application. You will be asked to record your answer to four questions and will have time to both practice recording and prepare for the questions prior to recording your video interview. We would advise planning to spend approximately 20 minutes distraction-free to complete the recorded video interview process.
You will need to complete the interview portion of the application in either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. You can complete the interview on any laptop or desktop with a functioning webcam and microphone.
