Prerequisite
You are welcome to apply to our programs with only 3 years of undergraduate experience. However, we recommend having a 4-year degree in order to cover all the prerequisites for the program. While there are no official prerequisites for our programs, we do ask that our students have a background in multi-variable calculus, linear algebra, and probability & statistics. It would also help if you have some knowledge of computer languages C++, Python, and Matlab. Overall, we place the highest priority on quantitative skills, followed by programming experience, and internship/work experience. If you are interested in applying, you may find the application requirements here.
For Master of Science in Management Science & Engineering (MS&E) applicants
All applicants to the MS&E program should have a solid foundation in mathematics, including multivariate calculus, linear algebra (MATH V2010 or its equivalent). Exposure to a programming language is a plus.

职业发展方向:
International Students:
The IEOR Career department is sensitive to the unique challenges and opportunities our international students face in the US, and have taken this into careful consideration when designing our professional development courses. We encourage our international students to get out of their comfort zones by helping them understand and navigate the cultural and business environments they will encounter here. Students learn how to craft introductory emails, engage in role-playing to prepare for one-on-one informational interviews and develop their networking skills, and learn how to keep connected after initial interviews and event attendance, with techniques proven to work in the US marketplace. We work closely with both employers and Columbia’s ISSO to make sure you have the information you need.
