学生需提前向计算机科学学院申请选课,但往往只能在本院学生选课结束后才有选课机会,因此热门课程可能已满。例外情况是数据库(DB)和信息检索(IR)这两门课程,无需申请,可直接选课。
数据库(DB):实用性强,项目优秀,易于在简历中展示,考试难度低,成绩分布高。
信息检索(IR):使用Python介绍搜索引擎相关知识,作业挑战适中,有助于提高编程能力,项目具有简历展示价值。
专业实习计划(Co-op)
电子与计算机工程学(ECE)学院的合作教育(Co-op)计划允许学生在第一个学期后开始寻找实习机会,并在最后一个学期前接受offer。申请Co-op需达到GPA要求,尤其选修概率论和计算机工程基础的学生需特别注意。
达标的学生可在学院平台上提交简历,平台由专人审核并定期投递。平台上有丰富的公司资源,主要是波士顿本地公司,回复率较高,一般情况下,10-15份简历中有2-3家公司会回复。后续面试与沟通需靠个人表现。
