计算机科学课程选择
学生需提前向计算机科学学院申请选课，但往往只能在本院学生选课结束后才有选课机会，因此热门课程可能已满。例外情况是数据库（DB）和信息检索（IR）这两门课程，无需申请，可直接选课。
数据库（DB）：实用性强，项目优秀，易于在简历中展示，考试难度低，成绩分布高。
信息检索（IR）：使用Python介绍搜索引擎相关知识，作业挑战适中，有助于提高编程能力，项目具有简历展示价值。
专业实习计划（Co-op）
电子与计算机工程学（ECE）学院的合作教育（Co-op）计划允许学生在第一个学期后开始寻找实习机会，并在最后一个学期前接受offer。申请Co-op需达到GPA要求，尤其选修概率论和计算机工程基础的学生需特别注意。
达标的学生可在学院平台上提交简历，平台由专人审核并定期投递。平台上有丰富的公司资源，主要是波士顿本地公司，回复率较高，一般情况下，10-15份简历中有2-3家公司会回复。后续面试与沟通需靠个人表现。
