作为香港第一个专门培训新闻专业人员的研究生学位课程，新闻学硕士[MJ]课程专注于健全的新闻学教育的核心成分。学生在印刷、数字和多媒体新闻的最佳实践，以及媒体法律、标准和道德方面接受培训。学生还可以在商业和金融报道、文化新闻、全球事务、纪录片制作、数据新闻、摄影记者和报道中国的新闻方面追求自己的兴趣。该课程以英语授课，旨在为学生进入专业领域做好准备，并在商业压力和革命性的技术发展所塑造的快速变化的媒体环境中成为标准的制定者。该课程也适用于有兴趣提高专业水平或从事教学工作的中年记者，以及寻求媒体相关职业的非新闻专业人士。
