中文学院「中国历史研究」文科硕士课程始于1974年，是目前香港同类课程中唯一延续近五十年而历久常新者。除创设多年的二年制兼读课程外，2023-24学年增设一年全日制修课模式，由著名学者、业界专家及中文学院老师讲授。课程充分利用学院丰厚的资源，务求达到传承中国文化，培养历史专才的教学目的。
