UBC’s professional Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs (MPPGA) program equips future policy makers with a profound understanding of policy-making processes through a solid foundation of rigorous knowledge acquisition, policy analysis, career development, and experiential learning.
With a full-time 20-month program, students in Vancouver’s UBC School of Public Policy and Global Affairs will gain expertise in one, or all, of our three main streams: Development and Social Change; Resources, Energy, and Sustainability; and Global Governance and Security. With the additional flexibility to choose a range of electives – including courses concentrating on Asia – students graduate from the program ready to address complex public policy challenges and drive meaningful change, both locally and globally.
课程设置介绍:
MPPGA students will benefit from our unique curriculum which fosters creativity, innovation, and collaboration by seamlessly integrating course-based learning and practical learning experiences. Complementing this, you will learn from our diverse faculty and policy practitioners at UBC, a top ranking university in both academics and action on climate change, in Vancouver, British Columbia, one of the greenest and most livable cities in the world.
Stream 1: Development and Social Change
This stream focuses on the economics and institutions of development. It focuses on how policy making can enable countries and communities to grow and to manage social change in an inclusive manner.
Stream 2: Resources, Energy, and Sustainability
This stream addresses global and regional sustainability with a focus on policy making related to energy and natural resources. It bridges scientific understanding with the needs of policy making on energy and resource use, urbanization and the global environment.
Stream 3: Global Governance and Security
This stream uses the lens of governance to address human security. It examines how human rights and international relations play a key role in policy making at the national and global scale.
Design Your Own Stream
Students with a specific area of interest that does not directly align with any one of the above streams can combine courses from multiple streams to create their own learning pathway. This unique learning plan requires approval of the Graduate Program Director.
