Statement of Purpose
A written statement of purpose explaining why you are pursuing our graduate program. Specifically, this is your time to address 3 components: What do you see as the role of museums in the 21st century? How do you hope to impact the future of museums and communities? What experiences have prepared you to engage with museum work?
Writing Sample
Your application requires a sample of your academic writing, which is frequently a paper you have written for an undergraduate course. There is no required length for this paper but it should be a research paper that represents your ability to make a strong argument and communicate it clearly in writing. Most papers are 10-20 pages in length.
If unable to upload to your online application, save the document as a PDF and email to graduate@arts.ufl.edu.
Evidence of extracurricular activity and/or volunteer work in a non-profit or museum are other criteria that the admissions committee considers as it evaluates student applications. Be sure this is listed in your resume and shared in your statement of purpose. This may also be submitted as a PDF to graduate@arts.ufl.edu, if not uploaded as part of the online application.
