申请人一般须：
持有认可大学颁授的学士学位；及
具特定水平的汉语能力，例如：
香港考试及评核局普通话高级水平测试（合格）；或
国家语言文字工作委员会普通话水平测试（二级乙等或以上）；或
香港教育局及考评局教师语文能力评核（普通话）（口语卷，三等或以上）；或
国家汉语水平考试委员会新汉语水平考试 HSK（第五级听力、阅读、写作均考获70分或以上，及汉语水平口语考试HSKK (高级考获70分或以上)；或
国立台湾师范大学华语文能力测验（TOP）（中等三级或以上）；及
具特定程度的英语或其他外语能力Applicants must normally
Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university; and
Have a specific level of Chinese language proficiency, e.g.
Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) Advanced Level Putonghua Proficiency Test (pass); or
The National Committee for Linguistic Work on Putonghua Proficiency Test (Grade 2B or above); or
Hong Kong Education Bureau and HKEAA Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua) (Oral Paper, Grade 3 or above); or
New Chinese Proficiency Test HSK (Level 5 in Listening, Reading and Writing with a score of 70 or above, and HSKK (Advanced Level with a score of 70 or above) of the National Chinese Proficiency Test Council; or
National Taiwan Normal University Chinese Language Proficiency Test (TOP) (Intermediate Level 3 or above); and
A specific level of English or other foreign language proficiency
